The Faculty of Letters and Philosophy promotes and participates in a broad spectrum of International Activities. Both in teaching and research, the Faculty believes that international contact, comparison and discussion is vital, and an essential part of its role in the elaboration and transmission of knowledge in today's world. The Faculty encourages participation in mobility programmes, especially Erasmus LLP. In the last two decades it has had a pioneering role in developing ECTS (see ECTS 2009 guide_en), the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System, and collaborates in the Tuning project, developing methodologies and common reference points to promote the convergence of Higher Education structures in Europe, Latin America, Canada, Australia and the United States. It is the seat of CLIOHRES, the European Network of Excellent for History. It has developed links with all the countries eligible to participate in programmes funded by the European Commission, and is engaged in extending its existing partnerships. |
